Our Community

The Doubletree Hotel Portland understands that our community is the place where our employees and guests live and work.

Our City

We're happy to give back to our community, and encourage our staff to make a difference. Each month, our staff serves meals at Portland's Ronald McDonald houses to families and collects litter in the public park that borders our hotel. We also support events that raise funds and awareness for local programs such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Race for the Cure, and Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Our Neighborhoods

On a daily basis, we work closely with a number of local and national organizations to share ideas and improve our environmental practices. As part of our "Teaching Kids to CARE" community food drive, the Doubletree brand is involving 100,000 participants in over 200 cities as part of a global efforts to raise awareness around hunger. Our hotels are partnering with schools in their local communities, like Sunnyside Elementary here in Portland, to collect one million non-perishable food items. For each item collected, Doubletree will make a donation to a world hunger organization.
